PLAY IN NORTH TARANAKI. CLUB COMPETITIONS OPENED, DETAILS OF THE MATCHES. The club competitions in North Taranaki opened on Saturday in fine weather. Three senior matches were played, Waitara defeating Urenui, New Plymouth defeating Inglewood, and Old Boys defeating High School. Watersiders were set down to meet Western Park, hut did not §pnd a team. In the junior division three matches were played. The match between Western Park and Harbor Board ended in a draw on the first innings. New Plymouth B defeated Old Boys B. ana Waitara defeated High School. BEST PERFORMANCES.

WAITARA BEAT URENUI. At Waitara the Waitara Club met the Urenui team and defeated them by 55 runs on the first innings.
