CLAIM FOR INDEPENDENCE. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. London, August 9. The Berlin correspondent of the Daily Chronicle reports that the Heligolanders intend to- appeal to the League of Nations for independence. They memorised the German public stating that conditions were satisfactory until th© British handed the islands over to Germany, then they were unhappy.
