BAWRA’S ACTIVITIES. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received June 7, 5.5 pam. London, June 6. A meeting of the British-Australasian Society unanimously resolved that it is in Australia’s best interests that the realisation of Bawra’s carried over wool should be subordinated to the realisation of the new clips; that any form of Government control should be avoided; it also protested strongly against the suggestion that Bawra should be selling agent of all new clips, as it is entirely beyond the objects of the constitution of Bawra and injurious to Australia’s best interests. PEDIGREE AND JERSEY SALE. The Farmers' Co-operative Auctioneering Company Limited, Hamilton, report:— , On Thursday, June 2, at the homestead, Fukeroro, Cambridge, on betalf of Mr. W. J? Chyneweth, we held a sale of his surplus stock and on the same occasion disposed of the surplus of Mr. C. A. Care. The offering attracted visitors from all districts throughout Waikwto with the addition of many from North Auckland and Bay of Plenty. Although the values realised for grade cattle did not quite reach the vendors expectation, satisfaction was expressed at the reception accorded' the pedigree animals. Wtilst it is not unreasonable to expect that dairy cattle will suffer somewhat this season from the general present depression affecting stock, there semes every reason to believe that its influence will not very seriously interfere with the advanceunent of |hfs popular breed. Mr. Care's draft was the first offeted and with one exception all lots were cleared under the hammer. The two year old heifer Rata’s Prince Violet (10056) topped the list at 90 gns. the purchaser being Mr. J. ,K. Dean, Paeroa. This animal was bred by the vendor and won Ist prize at Waikato Central Show 1920. Other popular lots were Queen’s Glory Lass (10055) 6(1 gns. to Mr. R. Harper, Otorohanga, Greenfield’s Kate (3700) 63 gns. Mr. J. F. Brown, Whangarel. The three bull calves were offered and sold from 20 gns. to 33 gns, the latter price being paid by Mr. J. Mortensen, Pio Pio for May Sweet’s Swan (9561). Grade cows and heifers from this vendor realised from 16 to 26 gns. In Mr. Chyneweth's offering a complete clearance was not effected, a number of lots, both pedigree and grade being passed in. The top price in the female class, 52 gns. was paid by Mr. Brown, Whangarei, for the cow Tonga Maid of Sedgebrook (3578). 40 gns. was paid by the same purchaser for the cow "Crystal” (1988), an importation from Australia with the ‘ semi-official record of 404.93 ,lbs fat. Amongst the imales ‘‘Magnet’s Glory’’ (6870), Sire Maiden’s Glory Lad (imported), and tracing back through good butterfat lines realised 78 gns., and fell to Mr. F. G. Gunson, Whangarei. Marshland's Distinction (8023) was purchased at 42% gns. by Mr. T. Higginson, Te Puke. Grade cows from this vendor sold to 31 gns. Grade heifers, 2-year to 23 gns.
