Although it has been decided that the memorial in the Romme should be on the liijb "round between High Wood and Dclville, Wood, near Flers, the exact spot lias not yet been chosen. It is for this purpose that they will visit that part of the battlefields, and Sir James hopes to be able to meet the prefect of the Somme, and arrange for the transfer of the property.

The transfer of tho other threo sites is already under way, but the authorities are moving slowly, and Sir James is endeavouring to hasten the completion of the transactions. Mr. Hurst Seager. has been doing a great deal of voluntary work in connection with the battle memorials, and at the invitation of tiie High Commissioner he has submitted sketches of very handsome monuments, the inspiration for which he gained on a previous visit to the places where they will be erected.
