O.G.A. MART.

SAOK AND HOLLAND STALL. f Amsig the many "useful" stalls a{ the O.G.A. Mart, to be held on October !>, is one called the "Sack and Holland" stall, which is entirely stocked with articles made from sacks, sugar bags, and holland, This may convey to many the idea of a preponderance of oven cloths, but such is not the case, for though the committee has kept strictly to useful things, a great variety of articles are gradually accumulating. Sugar bags have found themselves transformed into very pretty hand-bags, serviceable market-bags, and schoolbags, tea co3ies, peg aprons, sewing, aprons, cushion covers, kettle holders, and scrubbing .aprons, while the few sacks obtainable are being turned into bath-mats. The stock, of holland articles will include children's dresses and bloomers, rompers, feeders, aprons, cosy covers, linen-bags, and cushion covers. 11l these days, wh<;n the best possible use must be made of everything, it will perhaps be interesting to many people to see the various ways in which sugar bags may be made into useful, and in many causes pretty, articles. Necessity is the mother of invention, and with a little extra ingenuity it will soon be possible make the proverbial silk purse out of a sow's ear.

The Old Girls in charge of the stall (Misses E. and T. M. Monteath, D. Watkins, and C. Pellew) have been working hard for some time past, and they have hopes of an interesting and attractive display of goods on the day of the mart. As may be imagined," the task of collecting sacks and sugar bags has not been a very easy one, and if any well-wisher has one or more to spare the committee would be verv grateful to receive them, if left at the Association's room in St- Aubyn Street. If this is inconvenient, any member of the committee would be only too pleased to call for them if notified by telephone or otherwise.
