AVERTING TRADE WAR.
PRESIDENT WILSON'S ACTION. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Washington,' Sept. 26. The New. York Times states that officials believe that President Wilson's iction in refusing to terminate-the commercial treaties has averted a dangerous trade war. It is pointed out that the Affected nations would probably have instituted retaliatory measures, such as rate cutting and tariff discriminations if the termination of the treaties were carried out.
