RULES OF RUGBY.
MAY CAUSE A. SPLIT. UNANIMITY NOT REACHED. By Telegraph.—Pr«ss, Assn.—Copyright. Received Sept. 26, 11.5 p.m. London, Sept, 25. A special meeting of the Rugby Union unanimously adopted amendments to the rules as previously forwarded to the various Dominion Unions. Mr. Wray presented New Zealand's reply regarding the amendments, expressing disappointment at them, and adding that New Zealand Rugby feared that League football would kill Australian Rugby if the Sydney conference amendments were not accepted. Mr. Rowland Bill appealed to everybody to keep the Dominion Unions playing under the exact rules as played in England. He thought New Zealand and Australia should be represented on the international board, and they should officially apply for their representation. One delegate remarked: "It seems too terrible that a chance exists of losing such splendid sportsmen."—Aus.N.Z. Cable Assn.
