' September 23. A meeting of directors of the Stratford Mountain Hostel Company was held on Tuesday, when there were present: Messrs. J.'w. McMillan (chairman), A. W. Budge, W. P. Kirkwood, S. Pitt, P. Thomson, and J. B. Richards. Mr. Richards reported having interviewed the Minister of Public Works, who gave an assurance that the amount of £3500 would be placed on the Estimates again, and that the work of metalling the track would be proceeded with as speedily as possible. Mr. Richards also reported having interviewed the Public Works resident engineer, who stated 'that the work of opening a quarry would be started , immediately. Mr. Hrkwood stated that' an officer of the Public Works Department has already commenced work in this latter connection. ?
