BAY OF PLENTY SEAT.
MR. LYSNAR'S CAMPAIGN. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Gisborne, Sept. 22. Mr. F. J. Lysnar, Liberal candidate for the jßay of Plenty seat, addressed the electors' at Te Karaka last evening. He complained that insufficient time had been given for the candidates to traverse the extensive district. He urged the early completion of the east coast main trunk railway, the cutting up of big estates and closer settlement. He claimed that the Reform leader had not done his duty in connection with the district. Practically nothing h.ad been done in the direction of Native land settlement. The conl mines of New Zealand should be valued, the Government should provide the money to buy them, and tho men should work them on the co-opera-tive system. Then there would be no difficulty about coal. He was a progressive, and would support the greatest good for the greatest number, without being bound to vote in any way. He looked to the formation of a new National Party. Yonng New Zealand blood was wanted i* Parliament. A unanimous vote of thanks and confidence was carried.
