RETURN VISIT OF THE FAMOUS ENGLISH PIERROTS. Although the English Pierrots visited New Plymouth in the early part of this year, the pleasant impression made will no doubt be recalled with pleasure—when it is announced that the Company will give another season here next week presenting three entirely new programmes. The English Pierrots have just concluded an eight weeks' s'eason at the Wellington Town Hall, where their performances have met with the greatest success. Commencing their season at the Empire Theatre on Saturday next, they will again present their unique, musical, and humorous entertainments, and the company will submit a series of new and novel items, never previously given in this town. Originality and novelty are the keynotes of the Pierrots' success. Musical gems, monologues, character sketches, burlesque dramas, potted plays, dances; and impersonations are amohgst the items in the promised bill-of-fare, the advent of which should arouse delightful memories of the previbus visit of the English Pierrots. Last season —and previous occasions, on each visit, and every visit—their performances have been criticised as being "entirely clean and wholesome," and the 'management claim that the combination 'are again prepared to present frequent changes of programmes and entirely new items. The opening programme will serve to introduce several capital items, affording ample scope for the individual and collective abilities of the members. Referring to the previous visit of the six weeks' season last year, the Dominion (Ist June, 1917), says: "There was not a vacant seat in the'hall last evening .... This clever and well-balanced combination have made such a distinct impression with the Wellington public that their patrons would like the season continued indefinitely .. A pleasing feature about the English Pierrots' performance is the clean humor presented with novel effect." The box plans open at Collier's to-morrow morning.
