TO CRIPPLE INDUSTRY, j MACHINERY FOR GREAT STRIKE. By Telegraph.—Press Asan.— CopjrigM, Received Sept. 21, 6.5 p.m. London, Sept. 20. The Morning Post publishes secret documents showing the Council of Action's plans for a general strike to prevent war with Russia. The documents reveal the establishment of local Councils of Action throughout the country, which are instructed to prepare plans- for commandeering various means of transport to ensure the distribution of food to the strikers through the local co-operative societies, and also the formation of a cycle corps to keep the various centres in touch, and the creation of means for the dissemination of information among the' strikers if the newspapers are compelled to cease publication owing to the strike.
The Morning Post fears the Council of Actiotl will rise this elaborate machinery oh a future occasion for revolutionary objects without consulting the workers.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
