INCREASED SUPERANNUATION. Wellington, Sept. 13. Replying to a deputation of superannuated Civil Servants who asked for an increase in the present allowance, the Prime Minister said he understood the position thoroughly. He wished to do something for the superannuated Civil Servants this session, but was not able,to tell them yet what it would be. As a matter of fact, he was waiting for the end of the second financial quarter at the end of this month to see what he was in a position to suggest. _ Anything he did would commence with, the lowest paid man and woman, for they were the ones most urgently in need of assistance. Ho could commence with the lowest and go as high as he could. Anything ho asked Parliament to do would depend upon the state of the public accounts at the end of this month, and it would not bo permanent but for as long as the increased cost of living continued and as long as the finances of the country could stand it. Parliament would be asked to assist to the best of its ability those suffering hardships. TRAVELLER'S MUDDLED ACCOUNTS. Auckland, Sept. 13.
