A Bill lias been introduced in the Senate providing for a fine of 50,000 dollars and imprisonment varying from one to ten years for anyone even peaceaibly advocating the overthrow of any Government. THE LEAGUE OP NATIONS. Washington, Oct. 27. President Wilson has vetoed the Bill providing Federal machinery for the enforcement of the prohibition law. The Senate rejected by i() votes to* 38 votes Senator .Johnson's amendment to the League of Nations, increasing the voting power of the United States to an equality with that of Britain and the Dominions. NEW YORK DOCK STRIKE. New York, Oct. 2.i The Adriatic, the first liner to mava New York for a fortnight, is still parrying her English cargo which was not un. loaded owing to the longshoremen's strike. The Bulgarian reply to the peace terms protests against the magnitude of the sum demanded, and declares that voluntary recruiting will never provide a force sufficient to ensure order in the interior.
