SOUTHERN GRAIN MARKETS. Christehurch, Feb. 4. The rain of last week which put a stop for several days to the harvesting and thrashing operations, also checked the offerings of grain during the last few days. There lias been very little offering of any kind. Algerian oats are the only grain that is yet in any quantity, and as they come forward sales are made at from Js 6d to 4s 9d at country stations, and a iittle more has been paid for extra good samples. There are no Duns on the market, and the thrashing of Gartons has hardly begun yet. One line has been sold at 5s at country stations. Ryegrass is changing hands slowly at present. Italian is making a little more money than the perennial. The market for Peninsula cocksfoot has not yet opened, though it is reported that one crop has been sold at lOd per lb. The peas and the potato crops are looking well since the rain, and both promise yields above the average. / > DAIRY PRODUCE, ETC.
