ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
PALL PROM A TRAIN. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Taumarunui, Dec. 21. Joe Wilson, electric linesman employed at ti.e railway, was found early to-day unconscious by the line half a mile north of the railway station. The man left a boarding-house last night in good health. He has severe injuries to Ms head, pointing to the fact that he must have fallen from a train in the night.
KILLED BY A PALL. Auckland, Last Night. Mr. R. R. 0. Masefield, a well-known yachtsman and member of the firm of Masefield and Co., engineers and ironfounders, was killed on the waterfront yesterday afternoon. He was proceeding to make final preparations for a two weeks' cruise, and was carrying a tin of benzine and a bag of clothing. While going down the steps from the cliff at Ponsonby he fell a distance of 12 feet, striking his head on the rocks at the bottom, death being instantaneous. He was 48 years of age and leaves a, widow.
