The pnouthly meeting was held last evening. Present: Messrs .). W. Boon (chairman), W. Pinkey, C. 11. Lawn, G. Martin, J. Sanderson, G. Smart and W. Robertson. The siib-cominittec, Messrs Boon and W. McDonald, reported that at a meeting of representatives of Stratford Borough Council (Mr. J. W. McMillan, Mayor), Chamber of Commerce (Mr. .1. B. Richards), County Council (Mr. 15. Walter), School Committees' Association (Mr. C. H. Lawn), held recently, the following resolution was carried: "That the local bodies and associations lierc represented impress on the members of their respeet-

The sub-committee, Messrs Boon and W. McDonald, reported that at a meeting of representatives of Stratford Borough Council (Mr. J. W. McMillan, Mayor), Chamber of Commerce (Mr. .1. B. Richards), County Council (Mr. E. Walter), School Committees' Association (Mr. C. H. Lawn), held recently, the following resolution was carried: "That the local bodies and associations lierc represented impress on the members of their respective bodies the necessity of the disestablishment of the present district high school, and the erection of a new technical school on the site as already proposed l>y the Stratford School Committee, next to the model dairy farm, and ask that each body represented pass a resolution regarding the same, and forward to the Minister of Education, urg: ing such steps to be taken at the r-.rli-est moment, and that a copy of this resolution be sent to the Taranaki Education Board." After some discussion it was resolved to recommend that a deputation proceed to Wellington to discuss the matter, and that Mr. Boon be the committee's delegate. The visiting committee reported that two half-inch hose taps jvere required at each end of the infant school alongside basins; also a new service to the lavatories from Fenton street. —Suggestions to be carried out.

The question of holding some outing in lieu of the annual picnic at the seaside, was discussed, and eventually a resolution was carried that a sports meeting be held in Stratford on a date to be fixed during February. The headmaster, Mr. Tyrer, in his report, stated that Miss' Perry, M.L.C., will be leaving this year. Mr. Burley had joined the Education Board's staff of agricultural instructors, and, being stationed at Stratford, will take charge of the sehool science classes. The headmaster haoVarranged to take commercial work as part of tho secondary school course next year. There were 03 passes. —Report received. GENERAL. The man Lee, who injured his hand in a planing machine at Eltham, is at the hospital, and is making very good progress. C.-neral regret and sympathy have been expressed for Mr. and Mrs. Frank Ran ford, in the death of their infant daughter, Norma. '_" he eldest giri has also been under medical treatmeiii, while the genial Frank, who liar* delighted many audiences during the winter months with his merry songs and -stories, has also had a bout of illness. All his friends trust that this is the last of his ill-fortune, and that the child now under treatment will soon be in the best possible health.
