NEW DRESS REGULATIONS. —— By Telegraph. —'Press Association. Wellington, Dec. 1. , Messrs Young and Anderson, M'sP., waited on the Minister of Defence and stated that soldiers had strongly complained of the new dress regulations. Some men positively stated that they would not go home to be laughed at as silly guys. After discussion, Sir uames Allen said he would consult with Sir A. Robin as to whether the regulations could be relaxed with regard to the men on leave. FIRE AT HOKITTKA. Hokitika, Dee. 1. A fire at the Belle View Hotel at 2.30 this gutted Ijhc building. It is understood there will be a coronial inquiry, Tho insurances are £BOO.
