THEDA BARA AT EVERYBODY'S TO ' NIGHT—"HER DOUBLE LIFE."

The world faftious star, Theda Bara, will be featured in the William Fox sixreel super film, "Her Double Life," at Everybody's to-night and to-morrow. The story of a woman who deliberately takes the place of another she believes dead and is called to account after she has fallen in love with the man who befriends her, makes this new Theda 'Bara photoplay one of exceptionally gripping heart interest. On the same programme there is a splendid' Triangle feature, "The Paws of the Bear," a gripping war story in which the leading parts are taken by William Desmond and Clara Williams. William Desmond portrays a cheery and likeable American, who protects the heroine when she shoots a German general. They are both sentenced to death, but are saved by an Allied aeroplane bomb. Then on the trip home on the great Atlantic steamer Austrian' secret service officials make their appearance, and one of them is a close friend of the American. The interest is well held until the fine climax. The struggle between the two great spy systems, the Russian and Austrian, is vividly shown, and the whole play is the best of the war dramas yet. VIOLA DANAAT THE EMPIRE TONIGHT. "GOD'S LAW AND MAN'S," "A Wife bv Purchase," Paul Trent's striking novel has been transferred to the screen by the Metro Company under the title of "God's Law and Man's." with the bewitching little star, Viola Dana, in the lead and Robert Walker as her principal support. Vioh, Dana is becoming wonderfully popular with picture patrons her versatility, ch'arm, and, remarkable ability winning a prominent place for her tin id the stars of the screen. In each of her Metro plays She has had a different sort of character, and her ability ?rows with the delineation of each. Miss Eana in her very early days was recognised as a splendid dancer —in fact lier career commenced as a child dancer in England and later in New York. In "God's Law and Man's" opportunitv is found to reveal her ability in this direction, when as an East Indian maiden, she is the dancing girl at the rites of a heathen temple. It is safe to predict that as "Ameia" the little Hindoo girl who follows her English lover to Lon> don, Miss Dana will bo regarded as one of the cleverest and popular stars of the screen. "God's Law and Man's" will commence a three-night season at the Empire to-night and on the same programme there will be shown the eighth episode of the "Secret of the Submarine," a continuation of the fascinating our per medium, of "Rex Beach Travel Series," a good Topical Gazette and humorous comedy.
