A SPORTS DAY. ! The winter term of this institution 1 elosed- on Thursday, and on Wednesday afternoon a sports gathering was held, and despite the inclement weather that prevailed, a very pleasant time was Jipent the girls vying with each other in the various, events with a happy, healthy rivalry. Thread the Needle Race.—T. Monteath and Q. Gibson 1, M. Spence and C. Musker 2. Wet Day Race.—J. Cassie 1, T. Burwell 2. Egg and Spoon Race.—G, Barnett 1, J. Cooke 2. Bicycle Tortoise.—A. Rawlingson 1, V. Johns 2. Bicycle Steering.—B. Barnett 1, M. Johnson 2. Little Sisters' Race,—Miss P>ennell 1, Miss M. Fookes 2. Nine teams entered for the six-a-side hockey tournament, each teaming wearing a distinguishing color: Red, orange, yellow, green, royal blue, pale blue, pink, purple, and brown. The tournament ended on Thursday morning, the winners being the Pale Blues: (W. Chapman (captain), I. Earp, Enid White, D. Nixon, J. Cassie, D. Gardner).
