The first number (12), was drawn by Miss Myrtle Guildford, and the second (2111) by Miss Mary Stuart. At the auction of gifts the bidding was very quick, and over £3O was realised. r lhe workers at the hall, which was very nicely decorated, were:—Lollie stall, Miss Maggie Paterson, Grace and Edna Ible; brail tub, Miss M. "Mackie; doll guessing, Mary Stuart and Elie Pile; cake guessing, Miss Maekio, Messrs. Blackburne, Pope and D. Paterson; button Boles, Miss Myrtle Guildford, while Mr. J. Simmons, Mr. Pope and Mr. M. Mrs. Baxter won the doll guessing competition, guessing the correct name, Joan. Hewitt, manager of the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile, Stratford, very kindly sold the stock donated at the last Tarata sale, the amount received being £22 12s. The Tarata Dog Trial Club also donated £2O. Many thanks to them.

The music foi the dance was supplied by Mr. Coreen's orchestra (Mrs. iVie violin, Mr. Corcen, senr., cornet, and Mr. Coren, junr., piano). The inusic was a rial treat. Mr. J. IJjiummond made an efficient M.C.

The takings amounted to '£lo3, and no doubt wit! reach £20,0 before the affair is wound up —surely a very creditable achievement for a place the size of Tarata. Miss H. Guildford made all arrangements for the concert programme and flag carrying. The arrangements could not have been in more capable hands.
