LIFE-SAVING.

SEW (PLYMOUTH CLUB'S VISIT TO WAREA. On Tuesday two car-loads of members of the Life-saving Club journeyed to Warea to give a demonstration and instruction in "life-saving to the pupils of the Warea School. A fair attendance of the public and a large number of school children were present. Mr. Swartz, caretaker of the Municipal Baths, instructed four boys thoroughly the several grips necessary for overcoming a drowning subject in the water. The four pupils showed particular aptitude in their lesson. After this land demonstration four of the members gave practical demonstrations in the river at tlie back of the school to a good audience of ladies, genflemen and school pupils. The methods of life-saving aild resuscitation were keenly followed. After this exhibition, Messrs Swartz and Christiansen gave a display of fancy swimming and diving, which was much appreciated. On concluding, Mr Wells proposed a hearty vote of thanks to the members for'their instruction and splendid exposition of life-saving, and three cheers were given them. Mr. D. J. Hughes, chairman of the society, thanked the people for their attendance, and hoped the instructions and display given would be educative to both old and young. Afterwards the visitors -were entertained at tea by the schoolmistress (Mrs. Barak) at her residence.
