OH! THE INDEMNITY SHE WANTS. Received April 18, 9.50 p.m. Berne, April 18. At a recent conference of German bankers, the Finance Minister declared that Germany will impose an indemnity of at least fifty milliards of marks. [Taking the mark at its highest normal ruling value (ll%d) in English money, the indemnity (?) proposed to be imposed is, roughiy, £2,500,000,000! The indemnity exacted from the French after the Franco-Prussian war was £200,000,000.]
