He has also authorised a special parade of Senior Cadets throughout Taranaki, to take place at Stratford on that day. Some 000 cadets will be on parade. At the croquet green recently a match was played for a trophy presented by Mrs. Aldwcll, wife of Captain Aldwell, of the hospital ship Mamma. Mrs. W. J King proved the winner, and a gold brooch presented by Mr. R. Dingle was won by Mrs. T. Marshall. A lengthy discussion took place at the Stratford Borough Council meeting on Monday night on the subject of drainage and sanitation. A large deputation crowded the Council room, some being in favor of the proposed, charge of £1 for sewerage, and about, an equal number of ratepayers were against it.
