RUSSIANS CHASING THE TURKS REPORTED SLAUGHTER OP ARMENIANS. Received March 9, 8 p.m. Petrograd, March 9. A communique says that the troops on the coast of the Black Sea are pressing the Turks closely. We captured Rizeh, and we also occupied Senneh, fifty versts north of Kermanshah. It is unofficially stated that 40,000 Armenians were at Erzerum prior to its capture, but the Russians only found 16 alive. The police at Erzerum, a few days before the capture, drove out all the Armenians westward, where the Kurds, who were forewarned, massacred them.
