SPORTING.
TARANAKI DISTRICT COMMITTEE. The Taranaki District Committee met last night. Present: Messrs L. A. Xolan (chairman), W. C. Weston, W. Hookham, J. Gray, A. Alexander, J. McLcod, G. Fraser, and B. H. Chancy. Apologies for absence were received from Messrs A. B. Standish, A. W. Bridge, and S. I'itt. A jockey's license was granted to T. 11. Tiask. A list of fines, etc., for the Stratford, Egmont, and Taranaki meetings was approved. TARANAKI JOCKEY CLUB. Subsequently the committee of the Taranaki Jockey Club met, the same gentlemen being present, with the exception of Mr. J. Gray. The following transfers of horses engaged in the Third Taranaki Stakes was approved:—J. Duncan to V. and E. Riddiford, brown filly by Rokeby; J. Duncan to "Mr. Highdcn," brown colt by Birkenhead-Strathspey; J. Duncan to C. Maehcll, brown colt by Boniforiu-Sea Queen; J. S. Reid to R. Acton-Adams, brown colt by Rokeby-Ilma; J. S. Reid to W. G. Stead, bay filly by RokebyTeacup; J. S. Reid to W. Robertson, brown lill.v by Rokebv-Elaine; J. S.Rcid to G. L. Stead, b-own colt by RokebvRose Red: J. S. Reid to C. XV. Reid, bay filly by Kilbroney—Arai-te-uru. A vote of thanks was passed to Mr. E. Sole for his services in connection with the Wanganui Band.
