SYDNEY WOOL SALES. Sydney, Oct. 29. The week's wool sales had the most active and buoyant tone for all the better classes. Greasy crossbred combings brought 20Jd, a record for the Sydney Exchange. Faulties were dragging.

ABRAHAM AND WILLIAMS, LTD. A SUCCESSFUL YEAR. ■Following is the directors' report of Abraham and Williams, Ltd., for tlie year ended September 30, Ifllii:— Since September 30, 1908, the reserve fund has been increased by £20,000, and during tlie same period direct liabilities have decreased by over £IOO,OOO, and the turnover has been well maintained in spite of the fact that the capital account has only increased by £14,184 during the seven years. The net return for the year, after making full allowance for all expenses of management, bad and doubtful debts, etc., amounts to £13,316 Is Bd, to which must be added the sum of £2074 17s Od brought forward from last year, making a total of £15,420 Ms 2d. The interim dividend paid for the half-year ended March 31 last absorbed £2742 5s (id, leaving £12,«78 13s 8d to be dealt with. Of this sum, £SOOO 'has been added to the reserve fund, which now stands at £25,000. Your directors recommend that a dividend at the rate of C per cent, per annum on the paid-up capital be declared for the half-year just ended, and that the balance be carried forward. It is anticipated that at least £2OOO will be required to meet the new taxation Prospects for the coming season are promising, and it is evident that all farmers' produce will continue to make good prices.

At the Westfield fat stock markets on Wednesday, best oxen sold to £2 7s per 1001b, others £2 3s to £2 ss, steers at from £l2 10s to ! £2O, cows ami heifers £7 10s to £46 ss. BUBNBIDE. There was a very large yarding of fat cattle. The highest price was £27, probably a record for the yards, and at the end of the sale prices were firmer than at the commencement. Prime bullocks made £2O 10s to £23 10s, extra to £27, medium £l6 to £l6 10s, light £1 3to £l4 ss, best cows and heifers £l4 10s to £l6, extra to £l7 10s, medium £ll 12s 6d to £1 27s Gd, light and aged £9 to £lO 2s6d. Fat sheep—Prime wethers 40s to 51s 3d,, extra to 55s Od, medium 33s Od to 30s 9d, light 26s to 295, best ewes 32s 9d to 30s 3d, extra to 39s 9d, medium 20s Od to 27s 9d, light and unfinished 19s to 21s 3d.

Lambs—37 were penned and sold under brisk competition. Best made 25s 3d to 26s fid, medium 18s 9d to 22s Bd.

There was a fair entry of fat pigs and a full yarding of store and weaners. Porkers and baconers met with fair competition at a shade below last week's values. Good stores and slips met with a fairly good sale, but suckers were not in strong demand.
