HELP FOR WOUNDED. Sydney, Oct, 27. The committee has decided to allo'cate £170,000 of the Australia Day fnuds to the relief of the wounded. It is stated that the failure to do this has already seriously affected the success of other patriotic movements, particularly Allies' Day. THE RECRUITING CAMPAIGN. Sydney, Oct. 27. Conjointly with the recruiting cam;paign is a strongly growing public movement to force the Government to adopt 6 o'clock closing of hotels. Soldier speakers arc contributing earnest appeals on behalf of their comrades. THE GERMS OF CEREBROSPINAL MENINGITIS are stated by the Director of the Bacteriological Laboratory of the University to Melbourne to be quickly destroyed by eucalyptus.
