The eighteenth annual report to be placed before shareholders at the annual meeting of the Cape Egmont Dairy Co., which is to be held at Pungarehu on Thursday, gives the following statistics:—Milk received at cheese factors, 9,7'23,5201bs butter fat, 3Gs.2fislbs; cheese made (less 2'/ 2 per cent, shrinkage), 940.3!>olbs; lbs milk to lib cheese, 10.3; lbs cheese to lib butter-fat, 2.57; average test, 3.75, Milk received at butter factory, 1,044),4401b5; butter-fat. 42,2031b5; butter made, 50,551 lbs: 11x3. milk to lib butter, 20.7; over-run, 19.8; average test. 4.02. Factory butter to the value of £-1302 10s 7d was manufactured during the cheese-making period. Only a portion of the surpluses from Home shipments were yet to hand, and when final returns were to hand there should be a large amount to be added to the surplus disclosed in the balance-sheet. • Payments at Is per lb butter-fat were made during the year, and in July a. fur/icv payment of 2d per lb over the whole year was made. The available balance would be paid out as soon as complete returns for the year were to hand. Thcie had been delay in getting shipments away towards the end of the season, and there were 543 crates in the freezing works at Moturoa on May 31. The directors had decided on installing a pasteurising plant, which they anticipated would produce a marked'improvement in the quality of the output. The business of the store department showed a surplus of C2.SS is 7d. A balance of £IBB 19s Id was brought forward from last year, leaving the profit for the voai at £99 iis fid.
