NEW PLYMOUTH CLUB. The qualifying round of the men's championship of the New Plymouth Club was played on Saturday afternoon. The scores on the whole were poor. The following fifteen players qualified:—A Bowley 91, E. S. Bayley ,95. A. H. Steeds 90, H. .1. Thomson 98, F. S Johns 09, W. P. Nicoll 100, J. D. Scott 102, J. Austin 102, H. J. Dodson 10"4, W. G. Douglas 104, R T. McQuadc 104, K. Bain 10", D. Hutchen 111, Rev. A. B. Chappell 112, and L. Clarke 117.
WITIORA CLUB. Last week the ladies completed the eclectic match for Miss Furlong's 'prb:e. The best scores were: —Miss Goldwater, 107—40—07; M.'ss Rundle, 80—17—7*2; Miss 0. Ambury. 114—40—74; Mrs. Buxton, 104—25—70. This week the first round of an aggregate match will be played. Entries for the ladies' championship close on Thursday, the HMi.
