CONFERENCE TURNED DOWN. By Telegraph—Press Association. Westport, Monday. At a meeting of tho Westport Watersidersi" Union to-night, it was decided to turn down the proposal contained in the circular letter signed 'by the chairman and secretary of the Arbitration Conference, Trades Hall, Auckland, to attend a conference of arbitration unions at Wellington, the watersiders considering the conference a back-door move on the part of the Federation of Labor, with which they had no sympathy.
