THE nmiSTCITURCTI AWATU). , Per Press Association. < Christehurch, .|un.! 22. < The award of the Court of Avbitrn- ] tion iu the dispute between the Christ- 1 church Journalists' Union and the ■ Christehurch newspaper companies was ' filed with the Clerk of Awards to-day. ] The chief portions are as follows:' ' Hours of work: (a) Reporters' hours of ' work shall he spread over a period of ■ not more than 12 consecutive hours (in- '■ eluding meal hours) in anv one period of 24 hours: (b) except iii special circumstances, a reporter shall not be ' brought back to work after hi* day's work is finished until after an interval ' of at least ten hours; (c) any time worked in excess of these hours shall be paid for within the next 11 daws, either in time oil', at the rate of one. hour and a-half for every hour worked, or in cash at the rate of is (id per hour. Holidays—(u) Reporters shall be allowed at least one clear dav off in every seven .(except at Parliamentary election time); evenings oil' to be .clear from (i p.m.; (b) reporters and venders shall be entitled to two weeks' holiday in each year on full pay. Limited preference was granted.
