PROFESSIONAL ADDRESS.

MR. MYERS AT AUCKLAND. Per Press Association. Auckland, June 17- • Mi*. Arthur M. Myers, M.P. for Auckland East, delivered a pre-sessional address last evening. Dealing with finance, he defended the raising of a four and a-half million loan as Minister of finance in the Mackenzie Ministry, and said that when the loan was converted the cost for the whole period would probably be less than that of the loan just raised by the present Government. In justifying his action in taking up an independent attitude last session, he said that as the present Government, on coming into office, proceeded to carry out practically, the whole of the Mackenzie policy, he considered that he could best discharge the responsibilities to his constituents by reverting to his original position as an Independent Liberal. Mr. Myers received a vote of thanks and confidence.
