A BURGLARY EPIDEMIC. ! Per Press Association. Christchurcli, Last Night. The burglary scare in Christchurcli and suburbs is increasing. Further cases were reported on Tuesday night. The residence of Mr. Justice 'Denniston, at the corner of Gloucester street and Rolleston avenue, received attention. The servants beard a noise of someone climbing up the verandah. They rushed into the dining-room to call Mrs. Denniston, but the person on the verandah hearing footsteps inside made off. The police say that this case was a ruse. On Tuesday afternoon a young woman in the house of ilr. W. C. Nieholls, Mansfield avenue, reported that she discovered a strange man in one of the rooms.
