DELAYED EY THE GALE.

By Telegraph—Press Association. Christchurch, Monday. At eight o'clock this morning H.M.S. New Zealand was 150 miles from Lyttelton Heads, and at 10 o'clock the captain of the Pyramus received a wireless message from Captain Halsey, asking him to inform the harbourmaster that there was no chance of his getting to Lyttelton to-day, on account of the heavy southerly gale.

Christchurch, Later. The latest word from the New Zealand' is that it will be impossible for her to enter Lyttelton Harbour before dark. If the weather moderates to-day she will probably anchor in the stream at 9 o'clock to-morrow.

Christchurch, Last night. H.M.S. New Zealand is expected to ar rive at one o'clock to-morrow morning.

CHANGED ARRANGEMENTS.

Cliistchurch, Last night. Owing to the non-arrival of H.M.S. New, Zealand at Lyttelton this -morning, the arrangements made for to-day will be merged as far as possible with" those made for to-morrow. Other minor alterations have been made in the arrangements, including the postponement of the visit of the school children from the schools between Burnham and Ashburton from to-morrow till Saturday.
