MOTOR CYCLING.

CHAMPIONSHIP MEETING. Per Press Association. Wellington, Sunday. About 200 people, including a number of mm from 11.M.5. New Zealand, attended the first motor cycle races held here. The meeting took place on the Trentliam racecourse yesterday, in fine but cold weather, and some good racing was witnessed. Two accidents occurred, but the results were not serious. At the end of the fifteen-mile race Le Compte, who finished second, was slowing down when the throttle of his machine opened accidentally, and the cycle skidded for 100 yards. *Le Compte was thrown of]', his head striking the ground heavily. lie suffered a slight concussion of the brain, hut. recovered later.
