TWO RAILWAY OUTRAGES. By Gable—Press Association -Copyright. London, April 4. Tho suffragettes nearly succeeded in blowing up tlic railway station at Oxtod, Surrey, anil partly wrecked, an empty train with explosives, near Stockport, Lancashire. The explosion at Oxtcd blew out the walls. A travelling basket was found containing a tin. of petrol which had not exploded, and a clock bomb, timed for three o'clock in the morning. The fuse had been lived, but had not ignited the petrol. The perpetrators dropped a nickel-plated pistol outside tho station. Each of seventeen stationary empty carriages at Stockport contained an explosive gas cylinder. One carriage saturated with para 111 n was wrecked and fell over an embankment, thus preventing the lire spreading. *
A suffragette has been sentenced to six months' hard labour for window smashing in llolborn.
WOMEN'S IT.AWIIISE HILL. INTRODUCED IN PARLIAMENT. London, April 4. Sir John Simon's Liberal committee has prepared a Rill enfranchising six million women, entitline all over 25 years to be registered, if they possess household qualifications similar to men voters. The Bill also gives a vote to the wife of every ma.?i who has the householder qualifications. Mr. Dickinson introduced the Bill yesterday. MORE TNCENDIARY OUTRAGES. MANSION BURNED DOWN. Received fi, 5.5 p.m. Lndon, April 5. Suffragettes burned 'an unoccupied mansion at, Cborley Wood, valued at £2500. The police captured two suffragettes who were attempting to set fire to a new grand-stand at Kelso racecourse with paraffin. Little damage was done. RACECOURSE GRAND STAND BURNED. Received April 7. 1.15 a.m. London. April 0. Suffragettes burned the grand stand on Aw racecourse.
