Lea's "History of Sacerdotal Celibacy," and wrote articles for the English Historical Review, the Reunion Magazine, etc. He originated the idea of keeping wild animals in captivity without the employment of ca<*es in zoological gardens, the plan having been adopted in flerinany with "real, success, and is now being tried in the London Zoo. The Archbishop also succeeded in acclimatising the anthropoid apes in England.
