GENERAL STRIKE AT HUNTLY. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Huntly, Tuesday. The Miners' Union declined to agree to the recommendation of the executive that they should resume work when the whistle blew at the mine,'pending the decision of the Federation of Labor in reference to the Taupiri Coal Company's action in dismissing the members of the executive. No miners started work this morning, surface 'hands only being employed.

THE AUCKLAND STRIKE. Auckland, Tuesday. The general laborers' strike continues. Strikers are adopting the usual tactics to attempt to convert men engaged on various works to strike. The strike is confined to about 400 men, who went out yesterday.

POSITION OP TAUPIRI. Wellington, .Last Night. Mr. Webb, President of the Federation of Labor, speaking to a Post reporter re the position of Taupiri, said it was the most outrageous thing he had ever heard of in connection with industrial unionism.

The executive had been made victims for the Union and were being punished for what the Union did as a body. They merely acted 'according to their orders. The matter would be dealt with at once by the Federation.
