Bazaar. —Last Thursday in St. Mary's Ilall a bazaar was held in aid of the Backblocks Mission, but owing to the inclemency of the weather many were prevented from attending, but those who did brave the elements showed a keen appreciation in this work (7 was going to gay cause, but it is far too hackneyed) in a thorough practical manner, so we hope a nice little cheque will be handed to the secretary. Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Webster have returned from Napier, where they have been spending their honeymoon. Mr. J. Morton returned on Wednesday after an enjoyable holiday in Wellington. WESTERN' PARK SOCIAL. A correspondent scuds the following: —The last of the Westown Park social gathering's was held in the Brougham Street Hall on Thursday, where a very enjoyable evening was spent by one and all. A great mativ thanks are due to Mrs. 11. Ward (chairwomn.il) and her encrsctic ladies' committee, consisting of Mesdames Wood, Wallach, Johnson, W. Oliver, Browne, and the Misses Ward (2), Petty. Sisley and Johnson, who all worked with untiring energy to make the socials such a huge success. Mrs. (ieorge's Orchestra provided the music. whi<4. as usual, was all that could be desired.
