ATHLETICS.

Complete arrangements have now been made in connection with the re-union picnic to be held at Frankley roa4 on Thursday next. Given fine weather, a big attendance is confidently looked for- ' ward to. The open events have drawn splendid fields, and it will probably be found expedient to run some of them in heats. Handicaps will appear on Monday. The post entry events are also attracting great attention, and competition is likely to be keen in the ladies' and other races. At a meeting of the executive it was decided to add sheep-guess-ing and stepping the chain events. The children have not been forgotten, either, ' and the afternoon's sport should provide enjoyment for a(l. The commissariat department has been placed in capable hands. Busses will run from town.
