'The Catholic Bazaar, which has been in full swing here for nearly a week,.' was terminated by a dance in the Parish-' "Hall on Tuesday" evening, Despite the* warmth of the weather, a most satisfactory number of dancers assembled | an'.! a very pleasant evening Was spent. I The sum of between £7 and £8 -was taken at the door. The floor was in. excellent order, and the music (supplied by Messrs Spurdle and Vandyke) was ail t!mt v'.Hlld b? desired, Mr, J, Wj§ne\ysk.i. was indefatigable in his efforts for the enjoyment of the dancer*, and carried .out his duties in a most efficient .maimer. The excellent supper provided also went towards the making of a most enjoyable evening. The stall-holders and all connected with the ar)iiir are to be complimented mi the huge success .which ..attended their efforts. A word of praise is also due'to Mr'. W. W." Priest, the energetic secretary, who was here, I there and everywhere, and to whom the gathering owes a large measure of its-success. The financial result is not yet known, but it cannot help being satisfactory. The following are the amounts' paid out for butter-fat bv the local comTariki, £1130; Tarata, £530; Mangorei, £IOOO. The following nominations have been made for the Technical School Board; Householders, Messrs V. Thomson, It. I'aweett and D. Allen; School Committee, Mr. Hood; liorough Council, Mr. Tarplee; Tradesmen's Association, Mr. T-. Drake; Education Hoard, Mr. A. .Morton.
