SPLEXDIDLY SITUATED,

WORK STARTS IN EARNEST,

Work started in earnest at the military instruction camp at Taiiherenikaii to-day, various squads of subalterns and instructors being paraded in their respective marquees, where leetiircttes on musketry and other elementary subjects were Tin; camp was inspected by the t.'amp Comman lani, Colonel Herd, and the men were put through a course of drill during tile afternoon.
