The bankruptcy returns show that during the year '352 petitions were presented, whereof 259 were voluntary seouestrations. The total liab ; lities were £170,088, and the assets £119,376, leaving a deficiency of £56,712. During the previous year'there were 381 petitions, with liabilities amounting to £168,169, and assets £82,563. JEWELLERS' WAGES. Received 31, 12.55 a.m. Sydney, December 30. The Metropolitan Jewellery Wages Hoard award refuses the claim for a 44 hours' week, which they fixed at 48 hours, but grants an advance of wages, making them slightly above those ruling in Melbourne.
