The President of the Federal Arbitration Court has convened a conference in connection with the dispute between the Australian Steamship Owners' Association and the Federated Seamen's Union. The conference meets in Melbourne immediately.

FEDERAL MINISTERS' HOLIDAY. Received 29, 1.3 a.m. Melbourne, December 29. Messrs. Hughes and Batchelor, members of the Federal Cabinet, will sail on Wednesday for a month's holiday in New Zealand. Matters affecting the Commonwealth and the Dominion will be discussed with Sir Joseph. Ward. Mr. Batchelor will take the opportunity to discuss the question of combined action with New Zealand in relation to the New Hebrides and other Pacific problems.
