THE CHURCH IN WALES. London, October 31. The Welsh Church Commission reports that the population of Wales is 2,012,917. The church and chapel seating accommodation provides for 1,972,502. The Anglicans provide a church for every 1080 of,the population, and the Nonconformists a chapel for every 450. The Commission declares that Wales is over-churehed, and the clergy underpaid. One-third of the congregational ministers receive under £BO per annum. There are 195,000 Anglican communicants, being 23 per cent, of all the communicants. The report does not touch the questions of disestablishment or disendowment. PORT OF LONDON CHARGES; London, October 31. Leading importers and exporters have addressed the Port of London authority and protested at the levying to the extent of 05 per cent, of the maximum import rates and 25 per cent, of the maximum export rates yielding £330,000, which is the limit of the revenue it is empowered to raise. The address recalls Mr. Churchill's statement in the House of Commons that it would be sufficient to raise £IBO,OOO.
