AN ARREST MADE. By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. Some time !ago the discovery was made that one of the silver and two of the gold antique watches, valued at, £3OO, had been stolen from one of the' glass cases in the Auckland Art Gallery. The articles were part of the MacKelvie collection, and the matter was kept very quiet, the police being of opinion it would be easier to bring the thief to ibook if no publicity were given to the fact. Detective Cox has succeeded in recovering one of the gold watches and the silver watch, and to-day he arrested Henry Vincent Bruning,' known also as Harry Renaud, a fitter at Karangahake, in connection with the theft.
