Grillilhs and Co. are ill receipt of the following market report, from their London principals, Messrs. Mills and Sparrow, dated 31st July:—

Butter. Danish: Trade has been somewhat slow, and it was generally anticipated that Copenhagen would drop one kroner, but the quotation remains unaltered, although in some cases slighllv less than last week has been accepted. Siberian: Arrivals have'again been heavy, and quality again disappointing and prices have gone back several shillings. A few ol the best dairies liave held their own, but only in exceptional cases. There has also been a fair quantity put into cold store. French: Those who advanced their prices last week have had to come back to the old figures. Trade has not been anything like so buoyant as either agents or shippers would like, and unless orders 'become more plentiful, a reduction on the lower grades will have to be made, so as to induce business. Irish: With the general scarcity of ir ders lower prices have to be taken to clear; buyers seem determined to hold no stock at late rates, and even a reduction of 2s to 4s has been made they show no Keenness. New Zealand: One or two known choice brands ex s.s. Turakina sold at 118s, but the general price is 110s. Quality of shipment as a whole was vorv fine. Australian: Very disappointing trade, particular'}' for ladles and renovated, which buyers will scarcely touch during the hot weather.

Cheese.—-Sew Zealand: There is very little ott'oring. Anything really finest either in mhite or colored sells at lull rates, but '"ilavory" parcels hang fire. Canadian: Prices are somewhat firmer on the week, with fair steady consumptive demand.
