SINKING OF THE SCOW OBAN.

THE ENQUIRY-. PER PIJKSS ASSOCIATION*. Wellington, January 17. All inquiry into the sinking of the scow Oban at Wellington Heads oil the night of December 31, was held today by Dr. McArthur, S.M. Captains Post and Savory were the assessors. The evidence given was generally in accord with the statements made at the time of the mishap. The Master of the tug Dnco stated that he did not hear any voices from the scow after dark. His theory was that one of the. scow's anchors was carried away, and when it took the bottom the vessel's bows were submerged, the crew being then washed overboard.
