Constable Mcßae, who has been transferred, leaves for Palmerslon North this morning. Mr T. Shaliler Weston, of Weßingw ton, arrived in New Plymouth" on (Tuesday, after a trip to Sydney. Mr Weston spends u few days herje before returning to Wellington, Dr. Mason, Chief Health Officer for the colony, arrived laivt evening by the mail U,ujin. and is staying at the Criterion Hotel. lie was met by Dr. : Vnlintine, Assistant Chief lliM'ltli Officer, who is also putting up at the Criterion. Mi- Olios. Holdsworth, General Manager of the Union Steamship Company, arrived in New Plymouth Intra; Rotoiti on Tuesday ' morning, on Wis return from a business trip to England. Mr Holdsworth i K „ cousin of Mr F. D. Holdsworth, the chief postmaster. He leaves by the mail train this morning. Mr '.Norman, his private secretary, is witli lam.; Sir Joseph arid J j; ,dy Ward, with the Misses Ward, arrived in NewPlymouth by the express last evening. The psi'ty were met -at the station by flic Mayor,, Mr R. Cock, and J«r Hal. Goodacre, accompanied |,v Messrs E. M. Smith im d W. T. Jennings, M's.H.l!., and afterwards drove to the Criterion Hotel, where they aro staying. This morning the party will visit the exhibition. It is hoped that Sir Joseph will be prevailed upon to remain over Ihursday, to attend to the milfttary sports, but this, it is understood, is contingent upon the state of Lady Ward's health, as she is en route to Rotorua for a course of thle baithst there..
