SJCCESSFUL EVENING COMPETITIONS ( The exhibition continues to meet the popular taste, for Tuesday's attendance was even belter than that of Monday. The attendance must have been considerably over 2000; the "cash'' gate amounted to £4-5, and the receipts from the din- ' ing-room were' £l7. During the ! evening a first-cluss programme of music was rendered by Cornwall's ' Estudiantina, Band, the public expressing warm appreciation of the treat provided. Another attraction was the elocution contest, ill which five competitors entered in the class under 14. The judges, Messrs N. K. JlacDiarmkl and W. A. llallintine, placed Kenneth Shoiney lirst, Mary Dowliug second, and Olive l'eddie third. The machines are capable of turning out any work, and are very easy running. TO-DAY'S ATTRACTIONS. This afternoon Sir Joseph Waitl and parly will pay an official visit to the exhibition. | One of the features of the evening will be the miscellaneous concert and grand tableaux in the Italian Gardens, in which Garry's orchestra and 'others will assist. j A bridge tourney will be held in the dining-room, for which large entries have been received.
